I never knew that was her until I caught that episode a few nights ago.

    "Maudie...is here!"

Thank God for that show, which brought us Adrienne Barbeau.

She was a good actress, but I never cared for the characters she played. I detest loud-mouthed, pushy people, which was Maude's whole schtick, and I absolutely hated – hated – Golden Girls. They all reminded me of horny versions of my mother-in-law, and that is NOT a compliment.

I admit I liked the Golden Girls. Her deadpan delivery was awesome and she was the glue that held that group together. RIP.

    I fucking loved Golden Girls.

I was a young kid while it was airing on television and my grandmother would tune in for every episode. We'd watch it, with me not getting 3/4 of the jokes, while she made crazy good hot cocoa and scratched my back. Ah, those were the days.

I read an article a few years ago about how the show's repeats still pull terrific ratings on Lifetime and how there are many current young people into the show. I know many of my friends watch it when it's on. It's funny shit with four timeless characters. Maude was awesome as well.

    RIP Bea. A legend.

A true original, and a great personality.

Now will someone please go make sure Abe Vigoda is OK?
