Willie Randolph already knows how this all ends.

Willie Randolph, the manager of the New York Mets when they suffered the greatest late-season collapse in baseball history by squandering a seven-game lead with 17 to play in 2007, died Monday at the age of 89.

To get back about the man who passed away, Cardwell was the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in his first start with his new team after being traded.

And checking my transcript, Cardwell said Gil Hodges told him he'd be the Game 7 starter in the '69 World Series (if necessary) and would be used in long relief before that.

Brings back many fond memories if you played Strat-O-Matic as a kid.
