Grace led the 90s in hits, I believe.
Still wouldn't have voted for him.

    Rickey got 511 of 539 votes, 94.8%

28 people didn't vote for him. How do you do that?

No, there has never been a unanimous selection and that is exactly the motivation behind every single ballot that was turned in without Henderson's name on it.

And you are correct. It is total bullshit.

Drip, I understand the reasoning. Every ballot turned in based on that logic is fraudulent because those voters are not doing the job properly.

Who decides who skips him on the ballot?

Two things about Rickey where he doesn't deserve unanimity:

    1. 9 teams
    2. Playing cards with Bonilla while things were melting down in Atlanta.

94.8 pct is embarrassing, but not all that surprising. Spend 25 years acting like an idiot and that's what happens.

Let me make it abundantly clear that if I had a vote, I would have voted for Rickey without a split-second of hesitation and that there's no good reason for anyone not to vote for Rickey. I'm just saying that when you're dealing with 500-plus voters and you spent your career acting like an idiot, you can't be surprised when one in 20 guys/gals says screw you.

Edit: Or, you know, what Cowbell said in a rare moment of lucidity. :D :D

    That's ridiculous.

And I suppose Greg Maddux does not deserve to be unanimous because he looks like a geek?

    Nine teams?

There's a reason for 8 teams dumping the greatest player of all time.

Gotta say, when it comes to missing points, you are an artist, a Picasso.

    The second syllable stressed.

Rickey could have retired after his career with the A's and still made the Hall. I think you're reaching.

He played for 25 years -- and the reason he jumped team had as much to do with economics as anything else.

He had about 500 more steals than anyone ever. He was as dominant of an offensive player as I've seen in my lifetime.

God, you fucking people are dense.

And Barry Bonds doesn't get penalized because he started juicing after he was great!

    Lunatic sycophants.

If Rickey is Rickey, he'll decide to go in as a Newark Bear.
