    Whatever.
Dude is on the hill's leisurely descent, as a famous doctor said.
Too old to be prattling about some of the shit he does.
The puerile level of sophistication in the Hannan "apology" revealed much about his mindset.

He's really on the downside, not successful at all.

Depends on how you measure success.
I love how people around here act like pitching a documentary series is on par with inventing the polio vaccine.

Who right now is more successful?

    Reilly probably has more money.
    Has won more awards.
I don't judge talent or success by those things, but many do.
Was also, at his peak, a better stylist and writer.

On the off chance you aren't just trolling - by the way, trolling Sandy Hook is absolutely despicable - where the hell do you come up with this stuff?

No one is saying that Simmons has done anything on par with inventing the polio vaccine, but within the context of the particular industry that happens to be discussed here, he's successful.

I like the former Norrin Radd, but sometimes you and him have such contempt for your former business, I'm not sure why you stop by here on your smoke breaks.

I'm going to reasonably postulate that not everyone who has ever written a sports story is a moron.

Here's the "aggressive" part to go with your usual "passive", Dickie.
I am not sure what I said to merit this attack.
I hate bad writing- I don't think Norrin and I are alone there, on this site.
I hold no contempt for journalism, whatsoever.
I do think it's a joke Simmons is viewed as this big ideas guy, when stuff he's doing has been around for years.
HBO was doing sports docs in the 90s.

And, for whatever it's worth, I thought this was a fine piece by Reilly.
Moving and appropriately struck, without mawkishness or writerly dramatics.
Has Simmons ever written something like this? I ask in all seriousness.

    That what you do, Dick?
Openly pick a fight and then run away like an old woman?
Next time- don't waste my time and just don't post to me. Kay?

He's a concern troll. I think most smart people around here are aware of that.
Just aggravates me that someone would invite debate and then get on a stick horse and ride away across the plains.
It's what the concern troll does- rather than engage with or be persuaded by answers to the questions they pose, they run.
