Revisiting your references...

Looking to apply for a job, and I'm seeing that none of my references are from my current shop. This has without doubt been covered at some point on this board, but is it expected to have at least one contact from your current place listed? I would think the sports editor is an obvious call no matter what, so it seems like it could be redundant to list that person. Any thoughts?

Unless I can truly trust someone from my shop not revealing my intentions, I never list them as a source. Just figure it's safer that way.
