The folks on the site do have their connections, though, especially around the courthouse. And, no.

I almost hesitate to ask. That could potentially involve more than one person I can think of, but probably one in a glass-front office.

Softest hands in the state. A Squishy handshake is like pinching a fat baby's cheeks.

No, I don't have any affiliation with the Insider site. But you knew that.

So, I have heard within the last 12 hours that:

1, The deal was close to being finalized this weekend, according to someone close – but not too close – to the situation.
2, There's some fear in the newsroom, where morale has crated and rumors have run rampant, that it may have fallen through.

    A puzzle.

my sources are indicating that there are just a few issues left to resolve and that one of the top guys at the DD is on a cruise this week.
same sources have said there is less than a one-percent chance of this deal falling through.

A newspaper executive on a cruise?

My, my. Profits must be tidy.

I wish profits were a prerequisite for paying obscene amounts of money to executives.

Huh. Interesting. My thoughts are with friends at both locales.

Family owned. They may do as they damned well please, just as you would wish to do in your family ... I presume.

Relax. Not like it costs a ton to take a cruise these days. I know what you're trying to say here, but you picked a bad spot. Hell, if you own a timeshare -- which I do, so you don't have to be a profit-rich newspaper exec to own one -- you can take a cruise for like 500 bucks.
