Anybody else excited about the return of one of the best shows on TV. Tonight is the start of a 22-episode season that I think is going to run 22 weeks in a row.

And according to a NY Times story, I think an 18-episode sixth season has already been ordered.

I was hoping FX was going to re-air the fourth season in the weeks leading up to tonight's premiere because I don't remember all that much about how things ended.

Rescue Me is great, I just finished watching the last season on DVD. Hopefully the new one is going to be good.

After every season of the show they say it is canceled.

    I'm pumped as well, John.

And, like you, I forgot most of what happened. There's a pretty good recap on Wiki. Totally forgot about Tommy's father dying at the baseball game.

And yes, 22 consecutive weeks, which is pretty awesome.

I loved the first few seasons of Rescue Me, but am not that pumped about this one largely because I thought Season Four sucked balls.

I'm DVRing it though, so I'll at least give it a chance.

I'm pretty psyched as well. Appointment TV, it is.

Nice little lead in with The Departed. A flawed, but good movie.

It returned with authority too. Several laugh my ass off moments that set the table nicely, I believe.

Hey, in the "party" before the show, did anyone else see Maura Tierney there? Is she going to be making an appearance?

EDIT: Got my answer ... yes!
