I pulled this off tonight. I work at a hockey rink and my beat is -- suprise -- minor hockey. Ended up talking to a parent, asked a question and found out some information. Talked to the coach and the player after practice, introduced myself, handed out a business card.

Has anyone ever pulled this off?

Edit: Yes, a story will be written. I did an interview.

Talked to the coach and then said you were with Podunk Press?
