Tentatively scheduling a press conference in two hours.

    You do good work, IU!

So he's either been suspended or bought out ... I'm still waiting for an outlet to actually advance this story.

    Probably should have said "hon."
Hell, I could be wrong. Shockingly enough, it has happened. I just want to see more than "I think."
We kept pretty close tabs on that one. I guess both my we's did, the new and the old.

  5. An IU employee told me earlier that the press conference would be at 2pm at the latest so something must have happened. Sampson probably waited until the last minute to take up a resignation deal and now him and Greenspan are working out the details.

Maybe IU has sent someone up to Indianapolis to persuade James Hardy he should bag the NFL combine for the honor of starting against Northwestern.

Kind of amusing all the mad scrambling for the "scoop" on this today when everybody's already known all week the most significant thing that would happen today: Sampson would no longer be coaching. The only suspense was whether it would come in the form of a firing, suspension, or buyout.

IU has certainly handled this well. ::)

  9. That didn't take very long. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3258506

Update on the player-revolt angle: rumor is 6 players failed to show up for Dakich's first practice today, including D.J. White, Jamarcus Ellis, Armon Bassett, Deandre Thomas, Jordan Crawford and McGhee.

That left only 7 players (and except for Gordon definately NOT the good ones) with team managers used for scrimmage.

  11. But out of the players that didn't show up only DJ White was at the meeting with Greenspan when the players walked out.

Kelvin's going to tell his players to play against Northwestern.
