Rebounding statistics

    By that logic, you'd have to give an offensive team rebound if the ball was in the air at all when the shot clock expired.

    If the ball doesn't hit the rim, regardless of when it was released, then there was no shot.

    That makes sense. You see some guys swatting the ball and hoping something good happens and others doing it with more of a purpose. Wasn't sure if you had to have possession or not.

    Ok, I have another one...

    Player A passes to player B for a layup, but B is fouled while shooting.The layup is missed, but B does have two free throws coming.

    Is there any point that A would earn an assist in the scorebook?

    I hate that rule. Passer should get half an assist if he makes one free throw and a full assist if he makes two.

    Maybe, but you can only get an assist on a made FG.
