Canadian skier died because of injuries from crash last week in practice.

    A great loss of talent.

According to one story I read, she was instrumental in getting her sport into the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Damn shame she won't be around to see it/compete. RIP.

A great loss of talent, indeed, but an even greater loss of personality. Sarah, from what I have heard, was an amazing woman.

Man, I thought this said Sarah Blake at first. (Don't look her up at work.)

    So tragic.

Sarah is THE pioneer in women's freeskiing. She pushed for women to be on the same platform and be on the same stage. Great personality, amazing person, - it's shocking. Just a horrible tragedy in my industry. I've seen Sarah ski, worked with her in shoots at Breck and everyone is going to miss her. A great loss in the world of action sports. I can't even begin to fathom what Bushy and her family is dealing with right now. Absolutely terrible.

The event sponsor, Monster, is based in my hometown and they are a very progressive company who makes millions off the extreme sport industry, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them step up and pay a large chunk of this bill.

That her family is being billed that highly for her demise is unconscionable.

I knew little about her and realize I could search for and find hundreds of comments, but I'd love to hear from our little group here what made her personality so special. It's clear she made a strong impact upon people. What was it about her?

Something does not add up here. The contract that she would have signed to do the event should have had a clause for medical insurance.

also seems odd that hospital is demanding immediate payment.
