Question to Fellow Canucks; What's everybody doing for Canada Day?

    That's July 1 for the non-Canucks.

Just curious. HC & I might hang around the city or we may take a road trip. One thing's for sure--we won't be anywhere where there are huge crowd.

So that eliminates going to see the Queen on Parliament Hill or fireworks down by Lake Ontario.

    What's everybody else up to?

Travelling for work unfortunately! I will be in Windsor so may try to see some fireworks there.

Here in Cowtown we would usually go down to the festivities that were more kiddie oriented and then have a bbq with the neighbours after.

I would really like to see a holiday that is truly a holiday where everything is shut down. I think Canada Day would be perfect for this.

Mrs. Huggy is working so I will cut the lawn in the morning and get settled in for the Jays-Indians matinee. No clue why MLB schedules road games for the Jays on Canada Day.

    Clueless, that's why.

Remember fondly the very first interleague game against the Expos--on Canada Day.

The Skydome was packed and rockin', there were Canadian flags everywhere and some guy in the upper deck had a huge banner that said, "Where's the puck?"

Went to last year's Canada Day game against the Rays. Glorious day at the 'Dome and the Jays were rocking some sweet Canada Day jerseys - onsale for $250+ at the Jays Shop!

A Canuck only in spirit, but we'll be dressed in our Roughriders outfits and listening to the game, or maybe watching it if I can find it online anywhere.

    Independence from what?

    Sobriety?

    You've still got a queen.

The French-speaking people still push you around.

You play soccer on ice with spatulas.

    You're frozen half the year.

And the Indigenous People want their land back.

I think I'll buy some Canadian beer tomorrow and have a few after work.
Here's to you, Canada. Glad to have you around.
    Thank you for Margo Timmins.
