Pujols to the Angels for 10 years, $250 million

I don't necessarily disagree, but at what point does it become not just about money? Pujols was beloved in that community, and still could have received well over $200 million from St. Louis. He seemed to appreciate his stature in that city, as well. In Los Angeles, he very well could be a JAG.

Saw some reports that Angels' local TV deal is going from $50 million/year to $150 million. Also, Pujols' contract is worth $67 million more than what Moreno paid for the team.

    When it's somebody else's money.

Otherwise, it's always about the money. And not just because they like having the money, but because athletes are competitive and want to put up the best contract high score they can.

It does raise the old question, when is enough money enough?

Is $200 million to $250 million going to change Albert Pujols' life standard, now or in the future?

Just reported on Dan Patrick: C.J. Wilson to the Angels, too.

What did they do? Partner with a cable operator, or just threaten to start their own RSN to leverage the deal?

    No fucking way!

Good luck to them. But, boy, these could be really bad long term deals.

In the next 10 years, how many home runs did the Angels just buy?

Would they buy more signing Prince?

    - I posted the same thought on another thread, but I think it would get more traction here.

His life in St. Looie was flawless. Iconic. Maybe it will be in Anaheim too, but, yeah, can't believe he's tossing that away.

Though as a Reds fan, I'm beyond ecstatic.

5/75 for CJ Wilson. That's really not as bad as I expected.

I don't think a lot of people realize just how huge the gap between Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder really is.
