Nothing new (not saying that in a condescending way).
Civics and Accords are always on the most-stolen list.

    I have 194,000 miles on my 1998 Civic. I want 1/4 million.

It's my commuting car, and yes it was stolen once.

It was also recovered on the Beltway!!! That was at about 100,000 miles.

Sweet. Looks like my 2005 EX is safe.

My daughter drives a '96 Civic. We put an ignition cutoff on it and she uses the Club. I'm still nervous about it. It sits inside while our '03 Altima braves the elements in the driveway.

Yet another reason Canadians are crazy: DODGE CARAVANS are the fifth, sixth and seventh-most stolen cars.

    Am I missing something there?

Cars are typically stolen because their parts are valuable, not because they're cool.

But again, I ask why are Dodge Caravan parts valuable?

Because there are a ton of them out there, thus many that get wrecked, and people would rather pay $100 for a stolen used fender than $200 for a new one.

They have these new things called alarms...

Yes. Alarms that go off when a trash truck rolls by, that are not set or that people ignore when they do go off and that can be defeated by most people who know what they're doing. I figure if I can just make it a little harder to steal than the next car, I've done my job in protecting it from some local rice-rocket wannabe. I'm powerless against the pros anyway.

Not only are a ton of them out there, but Caravan generations tend to run for awhile -- i.e., a headlight from a 2001 fits a 2007 -- so the market for parts is huge.
