Procrastinators of the world unite -- tomorrow

Or time-wasting or just plain being lazy, whatever you want to call it. Has anyone ever beaten or overcome it? I've been a procrastinator for as long as I can remember, always hoping one day I'd mature and it would go away. It hasn't. I need the pressure of deadlines, real or perceived, to feel the motivation to do anything. In the end, though, I wind up wasting a lot of time. Suggestions?

I create artificial deadlines. "By X o'clock, I need to be done with this, this and this. And by Y o'clock, that, that and that. Otherwise, I'm trying to do this and that at the same time, right up against the deadline.

 

Let's do it next week.
