Lawrence Taylor is very well the best linebacker ever to play. Is Cris Carter in that discussion among WRs? No. Maybe top 20. Also, while Taylor was a well-known drug-hound, pretty sure he was never cut from a team because of it. Was Taylor unanimous? If not, I'm guess there are some who (along with Michael Irvin et al) voted against him because of his drug use.

Never once in this discussion did I say people shouldn't have voted for Carter because of that. Just suggested it as a reason. But, boy, it sure is fun to go on the offensive, isn't it? I mean, seriously, how small IS your penis?

  2. Maybe one of the top 20? How about one of the 10 best. Thanks.

    Resume your pissing match.

Highly debatable, Doc. ... The guy wasn't even the best WR on his own team for a stretch.

The amazing thing is you can make a good case for all of these guys on the list. And think of the guys not on this list--- Rickey Jackson, L.C. Greenwood, Ken Riley, Jerry Kramer just to name four. That is why the Football Hall is the toughest to get into.

No pissing match. He revealed his shitty-ass cards by calling Carter ... top 20.

    He's top 5.

Greatest hands the sport has ever seen.

Plus, some of our teen posters perhaps need to ask Moss if Carter was any good.

    That's right.

Cris Carter does rank behind the NFL's second-best WR ever.

    Very profound shit there.

  7. Assuming you're referring to Moss, Carter already was on the downside of his career (and still put up three more 1,000-yard seasons). During his prime, no one except Rice was better.

    Top 5? Really?

So out of Rice, Alworth, Largent, Warfield, Swann, Stallworth, Biletnikoff, Joiner, Maynard and C. Taylor, Carter is better than at least five? Wow. I'll take being accused of being 14 before I'd cop to being that ignorant.

So, Simon, based on this ...

... why should we consider Carter again? He was a second fiddle for part of his productive year, meaning he was piling up stats against No. 2 CBs. And, as you noted, in spite of having Jerry Rice-East on the squad, the Vikings didn't do shit during his career. Which way is it?

  10. He's better than Swann; I know that. One of the most overrated players ever.

Ok. That's one. (*Stepping aside to allow the avalanche of Swann defenders from SJburgh*)

Maybe top 20? Perhaps the most "huh?" statement I've read on here in a long time.
