Carter, Dent, Sharpe, Sharpe, Thomas and Woodson.

It won't go like that. Probably four of those six go in with Wilson and someone else.

Tagliabue will get in, but not this year.

Different positions, but McDaniel does have a great case. I'm not just going on Pro Bowls for Dawson. If anything, he should have been there even more. He was oustanding from the moment he took over for Mike Webster and the gave the Steelers options most teams didn't have in their blocking schemes with his ability to pull effectively.

Mark Stepnoski used to pull quite a bit and was very effective at it. I'm not advocating he get in the HOF. I'm guessing your opinion on Dawson won't change and neither will mine. No big deal.

I stick with my initial response. You obviously didn't see much of Dawson.

No need to make false assumptions.

I think Derrick Thomas is the new Harry Carson ... it will probably take him until his last two years of eligibility before he gets waved in.

Personally, I thought he was a total game-changer in his prime. I don't know how much he had left in his tank when the accident happened, but he certainly had a couple of years left in which to boost his sack numbers.

I watched that Seahawks-Chiefs game live ... the one in which he had seven sacks. Yet I think everyone remembers that game for the one he missed at the end. If he had wrapped up Dave Krieg on that final play, I think it would have boosted his "legend" significantly.

Your question mark referenced the reason for people not voting for him. You stated "drug tests" as fact.

We only found out he had any involvement with cocaine when he admitted it was the reason Ryan cut him.

He played 11 years and had 45 forced fumbles.

    He should be in.

    Well-educated guess.

Simon, it's somewhat well documented that Carter flunked tests. But let's just say he had a problem. Were that true today, he'd be taking tests and flunking them. And likely banned by his third year. Yes, I know, different times. But still probably why a few aren't voting for him, rightly so. Since there are no criteria, voters are free to use whatever they like.

As for Dawson, he was phenomenal. Best center of the era. But how many centers ever get in. There's Jim Otto and three or four others, and none since Mike Webster.

I think Zimmerman making it hurts McDaniel. To put in two OL from a team that never did shit.... sometimes tough to get done.

He was taking cocaine when he sucked.

He wasted quality time and STILL ended up with 130 TDs.

If every voter who didn't vote for him also didn't vote to Lawrence Taylor, then I suppose your pious position is supported.
