I was in your boat, getting acid reflux regardless of what I ate/drank. Bread. Water. Didn't matter. Was taking Prilosec every day and even it stopped working. Switched to prevacid, protonix, a few other prescriptions and they didn't help. Finally my doctor scheduled a scope of my esophagus. Turned out to be a hiatal hernia. I could either have surgery to correct or continue with medication.

I decided to try getting healthier, lost about 40 pounds and now I only occasionally get it. When I do, doctor told me to take two prilosec OTC pills. It's not every day, just as needed. And if I keep my weight down, it's needed much less. Just food for thought.
