The Kearney Hub anticpates an opportunity for an ambitious, conscientious reporter to lead our high school sports coverage. The position includes writing and page layout with an emphasis on innovation and willingness to embrace an expansion into all forms of online media. The Hub is a 12,000-circulation, six days per week newspaper with a three-person full-time sports staff covering a vibrant region that includes 30 high schools, an NCAA Division II college offering 17 sports and a United States Hockey League team. Send resume and clips to Buck Mahoney, Sports Editor, Kearney Hub, P.O. Box 1988, Kearney, NE, 68848-1988.

  2. Is this the paper that had/has sports writers who do the head-to-head competitions? If so, should the job description include something like:

"Candidates must exhibit ability and willingness to battle to minor injury and embarrassment against co-workers in a variety or sports."
