Post temporarily barred from Yankees clubhouse?

At least this is what Mike and Mad Dog said to open their show today... they said that the Yankees threw down the hammer since the Post wouldn't stop staffing the Torre homestead 24-7.

Haven't seen it anywhere else...can anyone confirm? I can understand the Yankees and Torre being pissed, but should the Post beat guys suffer because their Page 1 editors feel it necessary to waste man hours stalking Torre?

Torre, through the Yankees, asked everyone yesterday to leave his lawn.

Maybe someone actually down there can provide some more context.

Yankeeland's just bitter because of the pic on today's page one . . . which makes Georgie
    look like someone's addled uncle.

For those of you who don't know the Post, the paper is legendary in its tactics to beat the competition. They've had guys spying from trees, tailing guys in public restrooms. They are everything that is bad about journalism.
When you join the Post, you are serving an evil master.

Sometimes human decency supersedes whatever 15-minute scoop anyone will get on this story.

And I sure as hell don't think the scoop is going to come from Torre's front yard.

But we're doing it for the precious reader, eh? ::) ::) ::)

Ask folks in the Yankee organization about George's treatment of office drones who have no way of getting back at King Bully.

    Yeah, they could quit.

    Many of them should have.

Human decency? George needed a lot of lessons in that specialty. He took none of them.

Fine. Then go camp out on the Boss' lawn.

On Tuesday the Post had a full day camp out, while the Daily News sent an editor to report who actually knocked on Joe's windshield as he drove away.

The reason every beat writer wasn't camped out at Joe's (where nothing was said), was because Steinbrenner was also leaving his hotel for Tampa and players were cleaning out lockers at Yankee Stadium. Hence, A team in the Bronx, B team at the hotel and C team at Joe's house. It's an ugly business.

Not to mention after Monday's loss Joe said he'd stay all night to answer questions to avoid a Tuesday vigil.

I think there's the makings of a good reality show in this somewhere.

Maybe I'm missing something...but the Yankees won't be in their clubhouse again until next April, right? So how temporary is this ban?
