Hondo, we get it. A little reading comprehension, please? Your response paints my post as if I'm a Daly apologist. Didn't dispute that he displays careless and dangerous behavior. Didn't dispute the other stories that paint him as someone who doesn't understand that he's not always cuddly and charming. Anything but ... just sharing one person's point of view.

Results may vary ... and based on your responses, Daly has behaved differently in your presence. Understood. No need to attack everyone who might be able to offer a different point of view or a valuable nugget of information.

Actually, for what it's worth, I didn't see what he wrote as painting you as a J.D. apologist, just that some people have one experience with him, and some have another.

I've personally seen both sides of his obviously bipolar personality, both with me and other reporters, and with fans. The good side doesn't come close to outweighing the bad side.

Methinks Gotti has a higher body count associated with him. Your analogy is invalid, if not silly.

It wasn't an analogy. Wasn't comparing Daly to Gotti. Only pointing out that good works don't outweigh bad deeds.

Most of said deeds are dysfunction or irresponsible, not necessarily bad. Going to a casino for a marker and getting it is not on the same order as ordering a hit.

I guess you never heard of exaggeration to make a point. You're about as cranky as that asshole you've got as your avatar.

    Sigh.

Saw the Golf Magazine issue today...Pos' column was actually a sidebar of sorts to a John Daly package, the lead bar of which was an oral history of the 1991 PGA Championship win. That was pretty good, the author talked to Jeff Medlin's widow, his playing partners from the week, Jim Nantz, Crooked Stick personnel, Fuzzy. Pos' column still fell flat, to me, but it seems like it wasn't so much a case of that he came up with the idea but that editors asked him to write Daly.

Outstanding ... in light of the fact that the Tour has been one of his biggest enablers.

John Daly never committed a crime, except when he committed crimes.
