Police porn scandal rocks Winnipeg

A porn performer and escort whose Internet sex romp with two sheriff's officers sparked a local scandal says she doesn't know what the fuss is about.

"Thank you for all the attention ... I love it," the woman known as Oshean wrote in an e-mail statement to the Winnipeg Sun yesterday.

"However, I don't understand all the fuss directed towards the couple. They were the nicest people you'd ever meet."

The male and female officers were placed on unpaid leave Thursday morning after news surfaced they guest-starred in a steamy video featured on Oshean's website.

According to justice sources, the male officer said he thought the video was recorded for private use and would not be available on the Internet.

But Oshean rejected that claim.

"All participants are aware and sign a release before shooting," she said.

A University of Manitoba ethics professor said he believed justice officials "over-reacted" in suspending the officers without pay.
