LSU rushed to judgment and never talked to Coach Pokey Chatman about allegations of misconduct with former players before conducting a “surprise, unscheduled meeting” on March 7 to force her resignation, her attorney says in a letter.

Chatman is seeking $800,000 for the remaining two years on her contract plus damages, according to a Friday letter from Chatman’s attorney, Mary Olive Pierson, to LSU Systems General Counsel Raymond Lamonica.

Okay, but didn't she have her lawyer look at the letter she signed first?

If not, then shame on her.

Seems like two possible outcomes here.

    1. She was wrongly accused, or what she did wasn't unethical in the coaching world, and she gets a shitload of punitive money for discrimination.
    2. She did something wrong, and she's going to humiliate herself in court and make a bad situation worse.

Either way, this should be intriguing.

The Pokey Chatman story, starring Regina King as the disgraced coach, Vivica A. Fox as the spurned assistant and Chris Rock as Sylvia Fowles.

Pierson described Berry’s allegations as “unsubstantiated hearsay” and “stories,” and the attorney blames the university for not adequately checking out whether there was substance to the claims. The letter also says the alleged misconduct occurred while Chatman was an assistant coach.

Chatman, 37, began as LSU assistant coach for the 1992-93 season and was promoted to head coach during the 2003-04 season.

Berry either held onto the information for years, or didn't find out until years later.

Or Danny Fortson as Sylvia Fowles. They are the same height and weight, I think.

If No. 1 is the case then there are a lot of women's hoops coaches out there hoping this doesn't got to trial.
