Loved the sit-down restaurants. After the Little-League games. With a salad bar. And maybe a Pac-Man or Galaga game to eat our quarters. Who cared about the pizza?

One of my best friends used to manage the local Pizza Hut.
It turned into the deeply discounted Pizza Hut.
And our pizzas were always good, especially the stuffed crust.
But alas, he got tired of the BS there and left.

I had the Hut a couple of years ago in San Antonio and it was just as hurl-tastic as I remembered as a kid.

Always kinda liked Pizza Hut a long time ago. It seemed to decline when they started mass producing it on Targets and airports.

I second stuffed-crust pizza. One of the all-time great pizza ideas.

Having said that, I rarely eat Pizza Hut anymore. I frequent Little Caesar's and the local Ken's Pizza.

    OK, people, here's an idea.

If you have a local Italian bakery, they probably sell pizza dough for about two bucks.

    Buy one or two

Also buy some Parmigiano Reggiano and while you're at it, buy a pizza stone.

Take a rolling pin or a wine or beer bottle and roll the dough out to the desired thiickness.

Take some tomato sauce and spread it over the dough.

Grate some of the parmesan over it

Add whatever you want: pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, whatever

    Crank the oven to 500.

    Preheat the pizza stone.

Put your pizza on the stone and bake the mother for about, oh, 10-20 minutes.

Take it out of the oven and let sit for five minutes or so.

    Slice it up.

You'll never eat chain pizza again

    Oh, and it's cheaper

Not denying you're right. But sometimes Pizza Hut just hits the spot.

and if you hate Pizza Hut, you're REALLY going to hate where I'm taking you and spnited for your 60th birthday in two months!!! :D :D :D

Pizza Hut was the pizza of my youth (can I even use that phrase yet?). It indeed sucks. I preferred Little Caesars, but it was only slightly better.
