I'll be there too. Wave to the dude in the Prince Fielder Brewers T-shirt.

You'll know him by his Rob Deer-like ability to clank a home-run ball hit to him at a National League park neat you...

I haven't been to a game there in 2006, but at that time there was plenty of cheap parking ($10 or less) between the interstate and the stadium. It was about a 10-minute walk to the stadium.

  5. Seconded . . . I would rather have something from Peppi's. They have a downtown location but the best one is on the north shore, which would be a bit of a walk for you and your dad if you park downtown.

At noon, it could be tough to park over by the park. I haven't been there for a weekday game that early, but usually event parking doesn't open until around 2:30/3:00, and that's on a Saturday. That said, the lots are open for workday parking, so you might be able to get in and stay in through the game.

If you park by the park, you can take the new T connector (there are stops at the Rivers Casino and PNC Park) into Downtown for free. Get off at Gateway Center and walk over to Market Square. Neat, open-air square that often has live music and a nice feel to it. The new-ish Burger and Whisky Bar there gets rave reviews. There's also Primanti Bros. (it's overrated, but it's not bad and it's local tradition), Orginal Oyster House (very good) and some other decent spots there. From there, it's not a terribly far walk to take the Clemente Bridge back over to the North Shore where the park is.

Once back over there, if you are looking for decent food and beer selection, the Bettis Grille is good and in walking distance from the park. There are a bunch of other joints there, too, but I can't attest to their food. Tilted Kilt offers nice ... views. Plus, those places are right on the water and offer great views of the city.

Have a blast, and enjoy the city. I miss it dearly.

When I started covering the NFL, I was told the two more overrated restaurants in NFL towns for the Anchor Bar in Buffalo and Primanti Brothers.

I did go to Anchor Bar, which I thought was OK, but the other place in Buffalo, Duffs, was far better...

I've never been to Primanti Brothers, but I went to some sandwich place near Heinz Field that I cannot remember the name of, but it was just incredible.

I'm now leaning toward hitting the Warhol Museum noon-ish / very early afternoon (he'll love it), then trying to find a spot to park & stay. Then we'll probably transit into downtown to grab a pregame bite, then head back to make the walk over the bridge. Haven't spent much time in Pittsburgh, really looking forward to it.

The Warhol Museum is excellent if you're into that kind of stuff. Good call on your part.

If you run into Molly McLeish, she's not out of your league.
