Agree - my only point after learning a bit more about this is that there is a lot of room for abuse by an unscrupulous police dept.

 

That's always the case in criminal proceedings.

But the choice whether or not to appear to meet an underage girl is always up to the dude sitting at his computer.

 

I hope they kill this fucker in prison...

They are now going after guys who make no attempt to meet, who only chat on the computer.

Moral of the story: Just stop it. Sooner or later, they will come and get you.

That was my thought when I first saw the headline on the P-G website. No, I wasn't hoping or rooting, but given his history and his conduct, I'd not have been surprised.
Unfortunately, my heart dropped, and I yelled "NO!!!" when I opened the story.
I've never known anyone who's had this happen to them, and given he's one of my better friends, it sickens me and I hope somehow it's not true.

Also, a side note, I apologize for using the word hate to Boots. I don't know him, so there is no way I could or should hate him.

how is it a crime for a 22-year-old young man to meet a 15-year-old girl at the mall?

doesn't there have to be a specific intent to make that trip to the mall in order to have sex with her somewhere?

That's a good point. Call it naive, but what if the dude was going there to say "Look, I need a new pair of shoes, I figured I'd come by now to say hello and meet you, but this is weird, enough, goodbye"? What would happen then?
