Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Idaho, Oct 3, 2007.

?

I have the opportunity to buy REALLY good seats for Billy Joel in concert. Should I go?

    Totally useless self-serving thread alert:

Billy Joel will be in concert here in a couple of months. I can get very good tickets (i.e. floor or front few rows on the side) this morning for face value. I like his music, but not a super big fan. Should I get the tickets?

If you've never seen that show, you owe it to yourself to go, once.

    Abso-damn-lutely.

Sounds like I'm much like you: the music is enjoyable, but not a huge fan.

Went to see him when he and Elton were touring together. Well, really went to see Elton and figure I'd muddle through Joel's appearance.

Left enjoying the Piano Man set's much more than the Rocket Man's.

Yes. Go. Or send me the tickets, I'll pay for them and go instead. :)

He puts on an enthusiatic show -- much better since he started laying off of the red wine. The concert sounds exactly like the albums, which isn't a bad thing. Pretty standard setlist.

    I'd go.

Are you kidding me about posing this question?

If anyone ever gets the chance to see him live, go because it is one of the best concerts you will ever see.

I asked the question because I've been on a bit of a spending spree lately and between the family going to the circus, disney on ice, a sporting event, the ballet and such we've been a bit 'evented' out over the last two months.

then this came up and I wanted to go right away, but realize I've been hitting the box office a lot lately.

Go, but for heaven's sake don't get in the car with him.

Saw him once and it was worth the coin.

Go and have a good time.

I saw him years ago (I believe the tour was supporting The Stranger album) and it was a great show. I'd love to see him again. Get a sitter, have a nice night out!
