Phil Hellmuth close to winning bracelet No. 12, this time in the 2-7 lowball championship. Absolutely my favorite discipline of poker; such a fun game. I wish more people learned how to play no-limit lowball; it's a tremendous game.

My blog post on Hellmuth, which includes all the particulars.

Is it me or is 41 final tables out of 80 total cashes a totally ridiculous ratio?

A neighbor in my buddies old apartment complex was a professional gambler. He would play online with multiple hands at least 3 days a week. At least 2 days he would drive down to the casino and play there. As far as I know, he made a pretty decent living.

A guy in my Fantasy Football league finished in the top 10 at the Foxwoods tournament a few years back.
    That's all I got.

Hellmuth didn't get it done. Juanda won his fifth gold bracelet and Hellmuth stays at 11, all in NLHE.

You start doing the math on the rake and the volume of hands, and I'd be shocked if more than 5% of online players end up ahead in the long run.

I'll be there next weekend, playing Event 32 ($1500 NLHE) and then event 34 ($1000 NLHE) if I don't make Day 2 of 32.

I'll be posting updates on twitter: @FletchWSOP

    GL me!

Just watching him on Poker After Dark, Phil Ivey seems like a pretty humorless fellow to me.

Didn't cash in either event. Event 32 had about 2900 players and there were about 460 left when I busted at start of level 10 ( last level of Day 1). I had 31K with blinds at 300-600-75 but then ran into two coolers that chopped my stack in half. Finally busted on KJ vs A2.

In Event 34 I got to level 6. Busted AK<JJ. Never really got going in that one.

Overall a lot of fun. A ton of people there. More crowded than past years. My guess is a lot of internet guys are just there letting it all ride.

    Glad you had fun.

    Sucks you didn't cash.
