    Why'd they give up on him? He's looked legit when I've seen him pitch.

    Of course Phil Hughes is a nobody. Being a highly rated prospect who was involved in trade talks and plays in New York and has not proven he can effectively get major league hitters out makes you a nobody until you can start effectively getting major league hitters out.
