    It's not like he's not a worthy selection, but the fact SI presents the award in December and does so to sell ads and magazines rather than just be an award means NFL and NBA players are always going to have a leg up on the award compared to athletes in other sports. Tennis has maybe its three greatest men's champions of all time, all sportsmen in the true sense of the word, and they'll never get it -- unless Federer already has -- I admit I stopped paying attention a long time ago. Baseball players will never see it again. Maybe Mickelson can get it if he ever wins a U.S. Open.
