Used to be high on the list of great towns in America to get your ass kicked. Things have calmed down a lot in P-Berg. But if you want a good beat down, the locals, and even a few visitors, are more than eager to oblige.

In Virginia, I'd have to rate them:

    1. Gretna
    2. Emporia
    3. Lawrenceville
    4. Petersburg

Damn, you've spent a lot of time on the Southside. My apologies.

Where does Hopewell rank on the list?

Gretna: ain't no big thing, but it's growing. Best municipal slogan in America, hands down.

You can probably catch a beatdown in South Hill or Clarksville, too. In fact, I'm pretty sure you can get your ass kicked in any Southside town from Martinsville to Suffolk.

If you didn't party in Ettrick or Colonia Heights, you are weaker than you know. (smile)

I used to have several rejection letters from this paper, back when I hoped to someday return to the Commonwealth.

Raised in Hopewell? As we used to say, "Kepone truckin.' "

It's funny that a paper you grew up reading and know that you can make a difference with, rejects you.
