Pet peeves

People who worry about 4-year-olds pooping in their yards.

 

In my state, it's people who will not turn left on red onto a one-way when it is perfectly clear to do so.

And I also get mad at pedestrians who take their own sweet time in a crosswalk or jaywalking, especially if they are texting or jibber-jabbering on their phone (which aptly describes 90 percent of the street-crossing students at Microville Tech), and at bicyclists who blow through stop signs expecting me to stop on a through street, or at a four-way stop.

 

Free-range toddlers

 

Distracted drivers. While I am typing this heading down the freeway, I see a woman talking on the phone, a guy shaving and a great big truck braking in my la

 

Hey. It could happen. You haven't seen how awful the parents in my hood are.

 

Humanity.

 

Runners who will come up right behind you when you are walking a dog. Sure, my dog probably won't bit you but it might freak him out.

How about staying a leash-length away?

 

I'm talking about three weekends a month. At least.

 

Yeah. That's a problem.

 

Sometimes I even feel guilty putting mine down for a nap when I'm alone with him because I realize that, though he needs the nap, I also could use the break.

 

People who require me to call with the following message:

Did you get my e-mail? Ah, OK. And when were you going to respond?

 

When I tell the clerk at Starbucks I want a black coffee and they ask if they should leave room for cream.
