    Holy smokes, that GJ file is horrible. I power-scrolled from about Victim 4 on, fearing that it was going to go to about Victim 55. It didn't, but who really knows how many lives this guy ruined.

    I too thought he'll probably kill himself. Or maybe his wife will. I really feel for her.

    The grad assistant probably in theory could be charged with failure to report, but certainly could claim he feared personal and professional reprisals if he did.

    So are you saying it runs in news or news side covers it?

    Actually, I think any paper worth anything would make sure it had both news and sports involved in a story of this magnitude. If news covers it, you lack the institutional knowledge of a beat writer, and if sports covers it, you lack the requisite criminal justice knowledge. Gotta be a combination of resources, IMO.

    Obviously, we had both news and sports working on the story. It all ran, however, in the A section.
