Lucy (to Linus): "You know what next week is? Next week is 'National Newspaper Week'?"

Linus (to Lucy): "Oh, really? I haven't seen anything about it on TV . . . "

    Ooooh, it hurts.

Ironic that 40-year-old reruns of Peanuts seem fresher than the current crop from Beetle Bailey, BC, Hagar and friends.

Well, on the bright side, if newspapers were being marginalized 44 years ago, and they're still around today, maybe they'll be around another 44 years.

I hope so, because at 71 I will be nearing retirement.

I thought it would be a coded message foretelling Kennedy's assassination.

I just hope my paper by some miracle survives another 24 years so I can take early retirement.

Like Lucy never letting Charlie Brown kick the football, some things never change.
