I figure this is worth it's own thread.
Patriots' seldom-used WR Tiquan Underwood cut by team on Saturday night, about 24 hours before the kickoff of the Super Bowl.

Wow...what a dick move by the Pats organization.
At least Rutgers will be represented still as the Pats promoted DE Alex Silvestro -- Underwood's teammate in college.

Until we know the reasons why, how do we know it was a dick move?

Belichick's campaign for the Charmin Soft-N-Cuddly Guy Of The Year Award is in big trouble now.

Do postseason paychecks work the same as regular season -- you get the week's pay if you are on the roster after Tuesday -- or do you actually have to be on the 53-man for the game?

Because the Herald is reporting it is not because of disciplinary motives...sounds pretty dickish to me.

According to Yahoo, if the Pats win, he would get a ring. Still, who wants a ring from a game that you were not even on the field for?

Who's going to start at cornerback for the Pats now?

And according to that same article you linked to, it says they cut him to make room for another lineman.

Underwood is a sacrificial offering to the football Gods.

A little too hip for the room, apparently. Kudos.
