I have no idea, man. I'm niether an accident investigator, nor a ballistics expert. I'm just a guy who knows about weapons.

I don't know what happened in that valley, and there are probably only about 20 people on the planet who do. Not generals in the Pentagon, not colonels at Benning, not coroners.

Thought this was interesting. Josh Rushing, the former Army PA and now TV reporter and author was interviewed by CBS. He was asked about Tillman and this is one part of a much longer response.

What I was saying is if it was murder, I think only a couple of people know. If it was murder, people would be going to jail. The guy who killed him and others involved. I don't think the Army'd fuck around with that. Not at the Ranger Battalion.

  5. Dan Milbank looks at Rumsfied's testimony on this matter in today's WaPo.

One brief excerpt from the article:

He made no overt effort to speak with the Tillman family members who sat a few rows behind him; as the room cleared at the end, Rumsfeld came within three feet of the late soldier's father but said only "Can we slip by?"

That's what they've been doing since they got in office.

Here's another article by a former Army officer. Says covering up things that would make the chain of command look bad is pretty much standard operating procedure.
