The week Obama is presented Noble Peace prize Newsweek should run this photo.

    Contrast with, say, this?

The photo Boom_70 posted illustrates one fact:

When you are running for public office or when you have achieved that public office, you are posing for photos every single time you leave your house. Whether you know it, or not; whether you like it, or not.

I don't mind Newsweek's use of this photo in this case, if Runner's World indeed gave permission. She looks good, and she is the antithesis of the typical "Rich Old White Dude" politician. I do have an issue with the headline, though, but I'm a purist who thinks newsmagazines should minimize the opinions they put on their cover.

Story headlines, fine. But not covers.

GB-Hack: the O.J. photo I posted was famously tinted darker for the cover by either Time or Newsweek. I think Time. Major outcry against sensationalistic media at the time.

I remember when Newsweek ran a picture of HW Bush with the coverline "Fighting the Wimp Factor." It's bad journalism - you are introducing a "question" that nobody is asking. Fox News does this a lot with their chyron. Really skeezy.

    Shitty magazine cover.

Shitty job by Fox News on news clips painting a different picture of book signings.

Shitty job by the other news network doing the same damn thing but cutting her down instead.

And people wonder why journalism is in serious trouble.

So being a runner and smoking crack are equal things?

The lengths you'll go to just to be disingenuous do not shock me.

So with this and Dan's example, it's always been hanging around?

    Unfortunately, yeah.

There's just more of it now, more opportunities for people to know about it, and more places for people to discuss it.

You still don't read well, I see.

See, that's what I was thinking. It feels more prevalent.

I read what you wrote. I read it just fine, and others read it the same way, too. Take a quick glance in the mirror.
