He should be APSE president, again.

Or buried so far away in Bristol that he never writes again.
Seriously though, he had to be on a zero tolerance policy after the whole Phillips thing

You mean like the whole Sarah Phillips fiasco?

He's a smart guy and can find another way to make a living. They can't keep him. And they need to address it very quickly.

If Hoppes keeps his job, you really have to wonder what he has pictures of Walsh doing?

Who goes to Page 2 (or whatever it's called) just because of his work product, anyway? Surely he can be replaced by someone making 2/3rds or even less what he hauls down. From a business perspective alone, I'm surprised he's still there.

    Yep.

I think you're giving ESPN far too much credit in wanting to keep some "street cred" as a legitimate journalistic site.

How Lynn Hoppes writes a story:

Visits various web sites for "water cooler" topics.

    Gets idea for story.

Googles Internet on the story subject.

Hits control "C" and control "V".

Finishes story, posts it on ESPN web site.

Sits back and admires the swag he has in his office.

As to Hoppes' future with the WWL ... any network that valued Craig James over Bruce Feldman is likely to sweep this under the rug. After all, "journalistic ethics" and "plagarsim" are probably not in the ESPN Employee Handbook.

Say what you will, but it seems the connections he built via APSE have made him bulletproof.

I just wonder if ESPN will refuse to acknowledge anything that Deadspin does.

At this point, no scenario would surprise me with this one...

I think a few comments on here are from people who have a personal beef with Lynn. I don't. I'm just surprised he was so careless and lazy when he didn't have to be. He built his career on being a hard worker and demanded that from others.
