    Filled internally. Mike Vandermause was demoted from SE/Columnist to beat writer.

    Very interesting. Mike traveled with the team, so maybe it's something he wanted. Interesting, nonetheless.

    I can't imagine he wanted to take a pay cut and be demoted, but it's far better than being let go.

    Papers would be far better off if they offered this to people rather than just let people go. I know it isn't always an option.
