Only 45 years too late

Pretty interesting story about actor Dylan McDermott and his mother.
She died in 1967.
Forty four years later he goes to the police station, asks a few questions and the case is reopened.
Police now conclude his mom was murdered by her gangster boyfriend, who died in 1972.
