One-hit wonders: Movie edition

Has Cuba Gooding Jr. done anything noteworthy that hasn't involved shouting "Show me the money!"?

 

I personally thought he was good in Radio and Men of Honor

 

Jaye Davidson in "The Crying Game"

 

Thomas Haden Church in "Sideways" comes to mind.

 

Since this is movies only, I'll let the fact that he was nothing short of brilliant in Wings go.

 

Yeah, I forgot about those. Plus, he had that brief role in "Pearl Harbor"

 

He was the Sandman.

 

Didn't he yell "Show me the money!" at a Japanese plane after shooting it down?

 

(Though you could probably put Morris Chestnutt on this list).

 

I was just coming back to this thread to mention that movie. Damn he was good in that (as was pretty much everyone).

After Radio, he hasn't done much but some some straight to DVD schlock.

The lesson as always:

To be fair the Academy Awards have had a bad effect on a lot of careers, and supporting acting roles (which often are like catching lightning in a bottle) tend to not launch careers or at least distract the winners from doing what they are best at.

And Colin Ferral seemed to go from being in every other movie (11 between 2001-2004) to now appearing at your local RedBox
