He was squandering a lot of his money on drugs, booze and strippers. That doesn't help.

Hoboken has some pretty expensive places. Not sure where he lives, but a couple of the buildings are pretty luxury and have great views of NYC.

He also has a huge place on the Jersey Shore. They did a special on it on one of the fix-up shows (Man cave or something...). The place looked like a palace.

Sorry, but the only question I've got is .... How the fuck do you stab yourself NINE times? And THREE deep wounds?

I saw that. Place was pretty awesome. The guy turned his basement or whatever into a kick-ass man cave.

That's some news cycle we've had lately for illustrating how pathetic the lives of would-be celebrities can be:

    1. Artie (I wish no ill for anyone, but most guys would embrace the idea that they could make money by being fat, loutish, drunk, stoned jerks and wouldn't want to kill themselves).

    2. Casey Johnson (Anorexic, stoned and stupid is no way to go through life).

    3. Tila (The Johnson family wishes she'd shut up).

    4. Brittany Murphy (see No. 2).

    5. Tiger's women: Miss February in the NY Post calendar claims she is a very talented golfer and will "go on the amateur circuit," whatever she thinks that means. Also said she is not afraid of bumping into Tiger as she furthers her golf career. Guess no one explained to this idiot that there's little danger of bumping into Tiger when you're playing in the Long Island women's amateur.

Sad, sorry people. Proof positive that money, fame and looks mean nothing in the grand scheme. (leave out the looks part for Artie).

For those of us who are longtime Stern fans, we know what a good guy Artie is.

He's severely fucked up, but he has a big heart. You always hear about him doing charity shows and being very generous to those who are not as fortunate as he has been, from a career standpoint.

He also was self-made, for better or worse, so comparing him to an overprivildeged bitch like Johnson, is unfair.

Mizzou -- the guy has been self aware enough to talk about this stuff for years. At some point, the fact that his dad took a header off of a stolen ladder placed on top of a picnic table doesn't excuse Artie's juvenile behavior. I want to root for Artie and I feel guilty laughing about some of his self-destructive tendencies. But at some point, you just have to grow up.

Agree 100 percent. What is so fascinating about Artie isn't that he's totally fucked up, it's that he admits it and talks about it so openly.

Fixed. Sorry. Can't keep up with all the drugged-up skanks.

Haven't listened to Stern since Q107 in Toronto dropped him years ago, but as far as Lange goes Beer League is a hilarious movie.
