Although it's said to be a small amount, there could be more.

How much would OPEC fear Israel with a nice little deposit of oil?

If those "larger amounts of crude nearby" are bordering an Arab state, then this could lead to a war. But good for Israel. It's about time they had some good luck.

Wow. Anybody ever read Joel Rosenberg? He's written a series of espionage-type books, one of which centers around oil being discovered in Israel.

Of course it will. Probably near the Golan Heights, which is why everyone wants to claim it as their own.

Maybe if they drilled at an angle they'd find more

Don't know if you'ever been there, but the Golan Heights is such a beautiful area. And so, for that matter, is the rest of Israel.

Funny how coverage of Israel-Lebanon has totally vanished from U.S. TV news.

So has Darfur, Afganistan, Health Care, Energy crisis, global warming, Osama Bin Laden, New Orleans, budget deficits and afforadable college educations.

But as long as Congressmen are sending emails to high school boys, Wolf Blitzser and Ted Koppell can get rightously indignant. And isn't that what it's all about?

If you're so concerned about those things, why not start some new threads to generate debate? Or are you too busy scavenging for Bush sucks material and info on the "Flair" Allens of the world?

Israel did hold oil-producing territory for several years in the Sinai, but gave it back to Egypt.

8,000 people die everyday in Africa from AIDS. Discuss the Bush Administrations requirement that rapists in Sudan use condoms before humanitarian assistance is given.

And I thought they were withholding financial aid because the rape victims were receiving abortions instead of counseling on abortion alternatives. At least that might be the reason why Chris Smith and Rick Santorum would withhold money to help stop the spread of AIDS.
