No, the point of this thread is that people put way too much weight on the TV rating a game gets.

How many people watched it happen doesn't matter. What the people that did saw does.

Invalid because of the late start of baseball.

I'd rather watch high school football than the World Series.

Baseball sucks at marketing, period. Not that it mattered in this series. When you delay it in the middle of the game for two whole days, it tends to lose interest. Not one person outside of the Philly outreach will be talking about this at the water cooler.

Well, Penn State-Ohio State did begin at 8 p.m. Eastern while the Rays-Phillies game came on, what, more than two hours after that? Of course Penn State-Ohio State will get better ratings, based on that alone.

Mike + Mike on ESPN Radio just said last night's WS finale did a 13 share.

    Suck it, haters.

Not sure I agree that PSU-OSU is "run-of-the-mill" but it's definitely not at the level that should be beating a World Series game.

Thanks to solid lead-in programming. :D

There were several factors for the numbers. The lateness of the WS game, the weather. But it might be time to face the facts that few people care about baseball in late October.

You talking about the same show that was on six other stations?

I'd watch a lot more baseball if it was only going to be three innings... :D
