    This is probably old news to plenty of people around here, but I was killing time at Snopes.com the other day and found it. Cracked me up.

    i remember when that card came out. some dealers at card shows actually covered up the obscenity (on the card case, not on the card) instead of displaying it. i agree with snopes that it's implausible that ripken, the photographer and the people at fleer who proofread these things were unaware of it. surely it was someone's job to look at every picture before it became a card. i mean even in 1989 i'm sure they took a couple dozen shots and then picked the best one for the card.
