I'm a victim of ridiculous posts like these. I demand compensation.

Fun fact: Mother-in-law Circus was on the ODU board until a couple of years ago.

I see that ODU is a public school. I'm not sure what the university can really do about it, or how they would be liable if "(something) bad happened there."

So you're saying that if something bad happened there, the lawsuit wouldn't have been big but for these jokes?

That's how you interpret my post? Really?

What I'm saying is: from a legal perspective, if anything bad happens there, the signs certainly create an additional (very large) headache for the university. That's undoubtedly one of the reasons the ODU president is so upset.

How so, though? It's First Amendment protected speech. Certainly they should be punished severely by their national fraternity chapter, but I don't think there's a damn thing ODU can do about it. (Although, as noted, there wasn't a damn thing OU could do, either. But they did it anyway.)

The only thing ODU can do is make the process be the punishment. That can be pretty bad, but that's it.

Unintended consequences: Whiny liberals actually making this reality, thus turning every college campus into the equivalent of Bob Jones University.

Then do it. You pointed out that Oklahoma would have lost if the SAEs had fought their punishment. Notice the SAEs did not fight the punishment.

So if these assholes and their parents want to get a lawyer and put their names out on Google for future employers to see, let 'em have a blast.

All the women I dated told me it was banned when I was in college 30+ years ago ...
