    1) is Charlie Batch?

Batch went in the third round - so it wasn't like there was another QB who was deemed a franchise guy ahead of the draft - (but that wasn't the case).

2: thinking three: Manning, Griese and Hasslebeck
    3: Manning, Griese and Batch?

He had one steal in his final, abbreviated MLB season to reach 400.

An NHL club played its final regular season game on this date 45 years ago, though the franchise lived on. Name the team.

Hint: the club did not make the 1976 Stanley Cup playoffs, but did play four exhibition games while said playoffs were going on before it moved. Yes, a strange circumstance.

I think both the Seals and Scouts moved for the next year, becoming the Barons and Rockies.

I phrased the question inaccurately, guys.

The answer I was after was the Kansas City Scouts. However, as you both pointed out, the California Golden Seals also relocated to Cleveland following the 1975-76 season.

Kansas City and Washington played four exhibition games in Japan during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Washington won the first three. KC won the last one. So, it can be said the Scouts won the final game in their history but it didn't count in the standings.

    Sorry for the confusion.

I don’t see that as confusing. There was obviously a clue but I was, ah, clueless.

I would love to hear stories from that tour. My rugby club toured Japan around that time and I’m told it was a glorious experience.

No confusion. I thought the scouts moved the next season.
