Well, I guess Joel the announcer isn't heading west with Conan O'Brien. The Tonight Show's new announcer? Andy Richter.

Meh. I was never a huge fan of Andy, though there were sterling moments on Late Night (specifically, when Conan pushed him, naked, onto the Today Show set).

Andy's return, to me, seems a way to kickoff Conan's switch, but I'm wondering how long it will last. Also, with Bruce ready to tour again, is Max committing to a West Coast move, too?

Max and The 7 are heading west — at least that's what I read.

Why did Richter leave in the first place, anyway?

That was the only reason?! That show was awful! He gave up Conan for that?!

Wow, I just suggested this on the Conan thread the other day. Great idea.

And Andy's sitcom was actually pretty good, it was just one of a million Fox sitcoms that have come and gone with no chance to get any traction.

I liked the P.I. show. - I don't even know why Leno has an announcer, Edd Hall left after he realized he wouldn't be involved after the show after the monologue.

    And Edd's done what since?
    I ask because I honestly don't know.

I really like Richter, but Joel has morphed into a flat-out hilarious character. I'd much rather see Richter come back as the sidekick and Joel remain as the announcer...even if he had to stay in NY to do it. Think about it: THAT would be hilarious. Joel in the same studio 3,000 miles away from everyone else.

Agree with BYH. I'm glad to see Richter back, but I'd rather have him as a sidekick.

Is Joel going to be on the Fallon show?
