NYPost and Daily News do identical covers

    Not as similar as the two examples above, but indeed similar, and the same date.

    Well, it is unusual in that there are two stories presently nearly identically. But the same pic, nearly same headline happens at least a couple times a year (on the front and back; before Christmas, both papers had "Miracle on 33rd Street" for a stunning Knicks comeback).

    You mean Col Allan gets summoned to Rupert's palace for fuck-ups on the wood? Uh, no.

    The real problems occur when one paper obliterates or scoops the other on a big story. Not for front-page treatments -- Dunn and Allan don't leave the office without knowing what Page One looks like.

    Funny enough, I'm pretty sure Patricia Hearst was on the cover of RS the week Bruce was on Time and Newsweek.
