“In both 1995 and 1996, Justice had a higher batting average (in bold type) than Jeter did. However, when the two baseball seasons are combined, Jeter shows a higher batting average than Justice. According to Ross, this phenomenon would be observed about once per year among the possible pairs of players.”

When this song was performed in Montreal on 6 July 1977, a disruptive fan angered Waters by throwing a beer bottle onto the stage. While the band played toward the climax of the song's jam section, Waters called the fan onto the stage through the microphone, then spat in his face after pretending to help him up.

Among the personal belongings found in Drysdale's hotel room was a cassette tape of Robert F. Kennedy's victory speech after the 1968 California Democratic presidential primary, a speech given only moments before Senator Kennedy's assassination. In the speech, Kennedy had noted, to the cheers of the crowd, that Drysdale had pitched his sixth straight shutout that evening. Drysdale had apparently carried the tape with him wherever he went since Kennedy's assassination.

In time, rumors spread that Euronymous had made a stew with bits of Dead's brain and had made necklaces with bits of his skull. The band later denied the former rumor but confirmed that the latter was true.

After the onset of World War II in 1939, Texaco's CEO, Torkild Rieber, admirer of Hitler, hired pro-Nazi assistants who cabled Berlin "coded information about ships leaving New York for Britain and what their cargoes were." This espionage easily enabled Hitler to destroy the ships.[16] In 1940, Rieber was forced to resign when his connections with German Nazism, and his illegal supply of oil to the fascist forces during the Spanish Civil War were made public by the Herald Tribune through information produced by British Security Coordination.[17][18][19] Life Magazine portrayed Rieber's resignation as unfair, advocating that he only dined with Westrick, and lent him a company car.

Kristen Scott Ousen II (born 1984) – Legendary semi-professional curling champion. Responsible for spreading the popularity of the sport in the Deep South. Ate 41 bratwursts during the Chicago Meat Slam in 1997, finishing in first place by 11 brats, beating the five consecutive year champion Mike Ditka. Donated $500,000 towards research on a cancer curing element found in unpasteurized cheese. Served as an alternate during the 2002 Winter Olympics for the US men's curling team and got his first opportunity to compete professionally after Tim Somerville sustained a career-ending injury during an attempted rescue of a family of the now extinct web-footed alpaca after a fire broke out at a local petting zoo in Harrisville, Utah. He scored once in the 8-3 loss to Canada. Co-wrote, performed and produced an unreleased album with Matchbox Twenty vocalist Rob Thomas. On the experimental project, known as "Mr. Ham", Ousen is credited with recording keytar, clarinet, didgeridoo, and backup vocals. Live performances received limited airtime play on the Mannheim, German-based radio station Radio Regenbogen.

Although he could not get any acknowledgement from the chain of command, Alexander convinced medics to treat patients for mustard gas exposure and saved many lives as a result. He also preserved many tissue samples from autopsied victims at Bari. After World War II, those samples would result in the development of an early form of chemotherapy based on mustard, Mustine.[30]
